1 Book an Appointment

Briefly explain the reason for your concern and your child’s age when booking.

3 Complete Required Forms

Once your appointment is confirmed, we’ll send you all the necessary forms. Please complete and return them directly to us.

4 Initial Assessment

The assessment will take place over the first 1 or 2 sessions. After the assessment, we’ll provide you with feedback on the findings.

5 Begin Intervention

If therapy is recommended, we’ll start with weekly sessions:

Consistency is key! We’ll provide home programs to ensure therapy is carried over effectively between sessions.

6 Ongoing Reassessment

Reassessments will occur throughout the therapy process or at designated times.

7 Progress Reports

You’ll receive regular progress reports, and we’ll maintain regular contact to discuss your child’s development.

The cost of therapy will be determined by the therapist based on the specific needs of your child. We aim to provide the most effective care tailored to your child’s individual requirements.

If your medical aid covers occupational therapy, you have the option to allow us to claim directly from your medical aid.

Once your medical aid funds are depleted, it is the responsibility of the parents to ensure that payment is made for ongoing sessions.

1. Free Developmental Screening

  • What It Includes:
  • Brief Observation: A quick look at your child’s motor skills, sensory processing, and general behavior.
  • Parent Discussion: We’ll talk about your child’s milestones and any specific concerns you may have.
  • Guidance: Recommendations for the next steps, including easy activities to support your child’s development at home.

2. Detailed Screenings at 3, 6, 9, 12, and 18 Months

  • Purpose: These detailed assessments are designed to evaluate your child’s progress at critical developmental stages.
  • What’s Included:
  • Thorough Evaluation: Assessment of motor skills, sensory development, fine motor skills, and social interactions.
  • Developmental Milestones: Check important milestones like rolling, sitting, crawling, walking, and early talking.
  • Sensory and Motor Skills: Evaluation of sensory processing and fine motor skills like grasping, reaching, and object manipulation.
  • Parental Input: We value your observations and concerns, which are included in the evaluation.
  • Customized Feedback: Receive a personalized report with recommendations and specific activities to work on at home.
